THEN AND NOW

Image 4

TOP: THE WHITE SWAN AT MANSBRIDGE c.1911  BELOW LEFT: SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT VIEW TODAY

From the idyllic Edwardian view of the garden of the White Swan pub at Mansbridge, we see below a similar view of the pub garden area; gone are the dining booths, seating and punts for hire. The area is now taken up by an extension to the pub and the punts as well as the footbridge (not in picture) are now just past memories. For more then and now pictures see our book "Bitterne & West End Through Time", available in our Museum bookshop - it makes an ideal Christmas present!
